To help journalists and media professionals keep up with the ever changing world of digital publishing, Econsultancy has launched a new postgraduate diploma on the subject.
This new specialist professional qualification from the internet research and training experts at Econsultancy, is aimed both at individuals from traditional publishing backgrounds and those already working in the sector, equipping delegates with the skills to oversee a digital publishing operation.
The two year flexible course has been developed in conjunction with Manchester Metropolitan University and Tim Tucker, the former online group senior editor of Future Publishing. It provides practical training by leading industry practitioners and has been developed to meet high academic standards.
Applications are being accepted now, for September 2009 entry.
Commenting on the diploma, Tim Tucker, said, “Everyone is aware of how quickly the face of publishing is changing and this qualification recognises the need for high quality education and training in the digital aspects of the profession. If the publishing industry is to survive, it needs skilled, dynamic professionals who understand how to deliver content in innovative and accessible ways.”

Paul Bradshaw, author of the Online Journalism blog (OJB), will be running an MA course in online journalism at Birmingham City University from September this year.
If you’re considering a career in either business or consumer media journalism, I’d strongly recommend reading about the course here. The OJB is an excellent site too and is worth checking out here if you haven’t already.
